2,646 COVID Cases Tallied as Restrictions are Eased

The Philippines on Wednesday tallied 2,646 new COVID-19 cases as more restrictions were eased.

The day's tally brought active cases to 29,138. The Department of Health also reported 4,029 new recoveries and 99 new deaths.

Overall, a total of 2,809,311 COVID-19 cases have been reported since the pandemic began in March 2020, of which 2,735,508 have recovered and 44,665 died.

The looser Alert Level 2 in Metro Manila is expected to end on Nov. 21. Under this alert level, restaurants, transportation and other commercial establishments can operate on higher capacity. Cinemas are allowed to reopen to vaccinated individuals only.

For the safety of viewers and staff, talking and eating are prohibited and masks and shields must be worn for the entire duration of the film.
